A motor training accident on the Vanderbilt cup course near the Soldiers' Home at Sawtelle injured Mrs. A. H. Pikes of Polson Montana. The Giant Plat car driven by Dave Lewis skidded and struck her, with effects described as possibly fatal.
An early morning fire caused by defective wiring damaged the residence of L. A. Van Doren at 725 17th Avenue. The estimated loss is $650 and no injuries were reported.
Dr Charles R. Baker was arrested on charges of performing an illegal operation on Mrs Lillian Dunlap who died at Mount Zion hospital. In a separate incident longshoreman Thomas McCalls known as Old Tom, aged 65, was burned to death in his shack near Firet No 8 and Whatcom Street.

Edmund Clifton of Wellington, New Zealand, told the Panama-Pacific exposition that middlemen are extracting large profits from dairy products lamb mutton and wool being imported to the United States.
