Boys Aid In Chase Over Copper Theft At Fifth and Cedar

In a sensational late afternoon chase at Fifth and Cedar, a suspected robber torn from a vacant Ninth Avenue North home fled with a copper bath tub. Patrolman Lockwood and Officer Melvin led a pursuit aided by juveniles including Harold Triplet and Royal Hrangham, who helped corner the suspect. Detective Sam Corbett and residents praise the boys for aiding police. The thief collided with a rock well as he fled, and police believe he may be linked to other similar crimes.
