Mrs. Harry Panting of 4008 Letitia Ave was stabbed twice in the hip by a maniac who fled after she grabbed a revolver. Panting, a baker, found his wife in terror with their 3 year old baby asleep. Detectives Adama and Hyme investigated but no arrest had been made.

A third blaze in six months hit vacated buildings along Western Avenue this morning. The Seattle Carriage Co. site at 12807 Western Ave started the fire, spreading to L. E. Parson’s vacated blacksmith shop at 1809 Western Ave, then to the former Star Carriage Co. building where most damage occurred. Washington Creamery Co. stock suffered smoke and water damage. total loss estimated around 10,000 dollars. All burned structures had recently been vacated.
Judge Humphries has ordered Leonia W. Browne to leave the flat at 716 James Street by February 28. Browne, a suffragette and attorney, has faced strong opposition leading to the eviction notice.
