Mary Zughwert a 16 year old girl and Bam Krodh from Stony Rock Minnesota were found shivering in Beattie after an elopement trip. Police Matron Kelly reported both feet frozen and Dr Buckley said amputation may be needed for at least one foot. They were taken to Seattle hospital under Dr Witlia care as Northern Pacific officials assisted. Officers Clark and Vau pent investigated and found both youths involved.

Riddie’s safe was punched. Northwestern Mutual Life desks and cash drawer yielded 26 cents. Forester & Co. had a split desk and cash drawer but no money. Tenants blame the building management and lack of adequate security.

Julia Yester Intermela, daughter of Seattle pioneer H. S. Yester, died suddenly this morning in Port Townsend of apoplexy at age 52. She was the wife of Charles L. Intermela Port Townsend city treasurer.

Former City Health Officer Dr. William L. Ludlow has recovered partially after several months of illness in Oregon and will spend the coming months at a farm on the lower sound to pursue a full recovery before resuming medical practice in Seattle.
