They then damaged Alfred Cardin's tobacco factory and barn, totaling about 10 000 pounds of tobacco. losses reach 10 000 dollars with 5 000 insurance. Raiders released prisoners and fled back to Fredonia.
Auburn February 10 Fire partially destroyed the new grammar and high school building. The recently completed water works supplied immediate relief preventing total loss. flames from the cupola at about 6 o'clock consumed the roof and upper structure. Loss estimated at $3,000 on a $20,000 building. No school today with plans for temporary quarters during repairs.
A Lisbon dispatch reports the crown prince, before his death, avenged his father’s death. Medical inquiry finds two bullets fired from the prince’s revolver and a head wound on an assassin matching the revolver’s bore. Household members claim to have seen the prince fire twice after the shooting.
