John Donahue, identified as the murderer, shot and killed himself in a besieged cabin after a four day pursuit. A note near his body said I killed Jack Powers and I am sorry that I did. Powers had accused Donahue of being too friendly with Powers' wife Mrs Powers. She was held prisoner by Donahue but escaped and led a posse to the cabin.
A small automobile crashed over an embankment into a park near 8ilst Ave South and Jackson Street on Wednesday night. The occupants fled the wreckage and were not immediately observed.
