New York December 31. The body of Cropsey was laid to rest in the city cemetery today. Attending the funeral were mourners who gathered for the related tragedy involving a young girl.
In Camden New Jersey the funeral of Senator Sewell occurred with four batteries of artillery escorting the remains to the cemetery. Several hundred citizens attended as prominent officials were present at the graveside.

The French ship Acre capsized at the Davidge dock in Portland this morning after ballast removal. No lives were lost as crew warned and jumped to the dock. The vessel can be righted with little difficulty. the dock suffered minor damage.
