Monroe, December 28. Frank Ryan a prisoner at the state reformatory died of heart failure after being placed in the correction cell on December 9. Authorities did not publicly announce the death. a Star reporter received the news today.

Fugitives from Bashkara report that Turkish military commander ordered a massacre as Russians neared. They claim aged men women and children were butchered and Christian homes looted, with occupants cast into streets through windows. Only about 30 men reportedly escaped.
New York Dec 28 Attorney Louie Marshall told Leo Frank he had learned Justice Lamar granted Frank's appeal for a writ of error to the U S Supreme Court in the murder case.
Judge Albertson ruled that 200 votes be counted in the Carrigan Knudsen column, effectively blocking the McKenzie Christensen recount bid for county committee. The decision holds that residence in the city for 20 days supersedes precinct residence, treating the city as a single precinct.
