Patrolman A. R. Ruckart of Ballard station lies in serious condition at Providence hospital with a side wound after a clash with Wilfred Bagley, 38, a Seattle Cedar Stegith manager. Bagley fired twice near 2038 West 63rd Street, mistaking the officer for a prowler. Ruckart returned fire and was helped by Patrolman R. J. Persho who disarmed Bagley. Ruckart’s condition is not life threatening but the wound is very painful.

Eight persons were injured, none seriously, when the second section of Southern Pacific train No. 19 crashed into the first section at Imlay, Nevada. The accident occurred near Reno on December 25.
