Ballard Camp W O W sent 275 to Camp 79 W O W for shipping remains of J W Ditzler. Ditzler died Friday in Ballard. Annexation opinion among business men favors no more than two of fourteen. Nell Pickerell a North Seattle girl arrested for wearing men’s attire and suspected of stealing an overcoat.
Frederick A. Allen, 43, assistant freight agent for the Northern Pacific, died of heart disease yesterday afternoon at 1715 Fourteenth Avenue after a two hour illness. Born in Kansas City, he moved to Seattle in 1884 and held multiple rail and newspaper posts before managing the White Star dock for the Northern Pacific. He is survived by his widow and a nine year old daughter.
The Beattie Electric Company manager pledged to listen to council ideas on University line service. He announced a spring plan to extend the line around Ravenna park to Calvary cemetery and proposed shortening the schedule by limiting trips after the Lake Union terminus to allow a 16 minute service. The corporations committee took no action.
In Lyons France the Geneva express collided with a tram car today killing four people and wounding twenty. The crash is blamed on the tram driver for not observing signals. In Rome the Milan express collided with a second train at Alagnano, leaving six dead and fifteen injured with feared more fatalities as the wreck is cleared.
Mrs Jean ie Richards of Mount Pleasant vanished from her home after answering a door call from a vendor on Thursday. She joined him to view chickens, taking $40 with her. Police investigate as disappearance may be a murder.
