England seeks new war credits of 1.95 billion dollars and a 1 million man army increase. Bonar Law informs the House of Commons with total war costs through the year pegged at about 18.76 billion dollars while Lloyd George remains ill and out of sight.
Weir City Kansas report states twenty miners were killed and seven injured by a gas and powder explosion at Mayer mine No. 9 near Reedy and Ryan. Most victims were foreigners from Stone City. About sixty men were believed in the mine when the blast occurred yesterday afternoon.
