In Judge Griffin's crowded courtroom, dozens of lawyers and interested parties gather for the re probating of John Sullivan's oral will leaving a large fortune to Marie Carran. City detectives Phillips and Burns arrested laborer J. C. Doyle at 11:35 after a telegram from Sheriff Webb of Chelan County identified him as wanted in Wenatchee for forgery. Doyle was held for Sheriff Webb’s arrival from the Great Northern Overland, three hours late, with custody awaiting the sheriff tonight.
David York a Seattle and Tacoma music teacher once confined at Steilacoom asylum was reported dying today with paralysis and unconscious in Tacoma. In a separate incident eight year old Alice Stillbrick died after her dress caught fire from a bonfire, her screams signaling neighbors and leaving her parents distraught.
