Seattle police seek a man preying on housewives by posing as a model specific sewing machine agent. He gains entry, inspects the machine, claims a hidden fault, and offers repairs after taking the customer’s name and address. He charges a nominal fee and may target several homes, prompting police action.
Frank Hamilton alias George Walker alias Waixer a noted bank man pickpocket and thief was arrested in Chicago for grand larceny after fleeing Seattle. He had prior terms including seven years at San Quentin and faced a Beattie grand larceny charge. He allegedly swindled Mike Johnson out of 1200 at Georgetown and fled when warned. He was seized while attempting theft of watches at an electrical display.
Last evening at the Seattle theater a large crowd enjoyed Why Smith Left Home a Farce by George Broadhurst with clever second act situations and a strong cast led by C. Jay Wildame and Lisele May Timer. The showing of Human Hearts drew praise for its clean dramatic presentation and moral impact. Third avenue theater continues full houses this week and a charity matinee for Carbonado miners' families is planned with Manager Russell aiding the relief effort.

Geo Thompson of Minnesota reports a bizarre robbery after visiting a Japanese bar with a traveling companion. He says he woke in a street car barn near Lake Washington, then in the city with $96 in bills missing. A detective searches for the barber shop Thompson claims to have visited.
