Miss Ethel Whitesides, headliner at the Princess theater in Ballard, seeks a good home for a 12 year old mixed race boy used in vaudeville. She plans to tour Europe and needs to dispose of one of the children, and hopes to educate him locally rather than send him east or to England. She has misgivings about his parents and mentions a search through New York for his family. A second note calls for a replacement dancer, a boy around 6 to 8 who can be trained for international work. The Farallon steamed out of port with explosives and freight.
