Isacer Vogel a wealthy jeweler was killed for 10000 dollars worth of diamonds. His body was dumped into a furnace ash pan after being crushed in an elevator car. Schaps the engineer and Jos Roberts the elevator boy were arrested. A stained fountain pen and diamond rings were found on Roberts.

He built Fremont church a decade ago and retired two years ago as pastor emeritus. He and Mother Cairns celebrated their golden wedding on August 8 1908. Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at Fremont Baptist Church.
Steubenville report states W. B. McVey attempted self harm but reconsidered. His wife, believing it a joke, aimed the pistol at him and pulled the trigger. McVey may recover from his injuries.
