Indignant City Council Grills Seattle Electric on Street Lights
The Seattle Electric Company faced sharp questions from City Council members last night over delayed street lighting. Crichton led the charge demanding reasons for lights ordered months ago but not installed, citing ward residents’ darkness. Superintendent Youngs cited hood shortages and worker strikes as causes, while the company contradictorily claimed hood availability. Council members Rinehart and Murphy warned of possible action if service does not improve.
