About 2 000 Pacific fleet sailors rioted in Tacoma on a Sunday night blocking six streets after a hotel incident at the St Charles with John Sciotti accused of attempted murder. Parkinson James Wyatt Joe were injured. Sciotti in custody as patrols and navy ships restore order.

A United Press report from Washington states that a presidential veto can kill the bonus bill this session. Thirty four senators oppose the measure and three more may switch to sustain a veto making 37 against passage, four more than the two thirds needed to override. The final vote, likely tomorrow, is expected at 57 to 34.
