About 60 B22 teamsters and most local teaming and drayage workers walk out in a city strike led by the Team Drivers' International Union. They demand a fixed wage scale with higher pay and limits on nonunion hires, threatening delays in freight, baggage, and public works deliveries as the strike widens.
Two off duty policemen were cut by the blast as Cragemien burglars blew a large safe in Crowley and Cos Giroult and P store on First avenue. Detectives call the job amateurish, likening it to a Washington hotel burglary, with a fuse powder device and soap packed around the fuse.
Idaho plans a 200 mile Lewiston and Owyhee road from Huntington Oregon to Lewiston Idaho. The line will join the Oregon Short Line at Huntington. Construction eyed to finish by this time next year.
A new road planned to connect Muntington and Senth will by May next year complete miles and provide transport to Idaho Bevan Dials mining district. The line promises access to mineral agricultural and stock country with extensive mines ready to operate. W H McPhee recovered $490 found in a coat pocket after visiting City Dye Works. White actress Miss Armstrong was knocked down and robbed by a man near Seventh Avenue and Yeeler Way early morning. She reported the incident to police by telephone but gave no details. Patrolman Huff later heard she had been struck twice and robbed, with the suspect escaping.
