Seattle Men Invent New Stage Device Electric Flyman
Two Seattle stage employees W W Ladd and William Pynchon have created the electric flyman a mechanical device to move theatre drops automatically using a dynamo and lever system. One machine replaces five to ten workers and could cut costs drastically as productions like Ben Hur require many hands for fly work. The device fits on a wall needs little space and officials expect patent support and New York demonstrations.
