San Bernardino Cal Aug 24 Under an operation at the county hospital Joseph Ulrich star witness in a murder case seized scissors from an attendant and plunged the points into his throat dying almost instantly. Ulrich had testified leading to Nels Hanson’s conviction for the murder of Henry Anderson and his mind had grown troubled since the trial.

A fire at the Interbay fire station at 14th Ave W and Smith St partially destroyed the two story frame building overnight. Eight firefighters on duty escaped. the blaze, started by an oil mop, progressed beyond control and the roof collapsed, causing heavy damage.
