Tacoma August 21 Fred Delage, serving a two year federal sentence on M island, escaped this morning. The escape is the first at the penitentiary since last year when Roy Gardner and companions attempted liberty. Delage had been arrested last spring on a charge of trading a stolen auto from Massachusetts to Washington.
In Centralia Washington an unidentified roughly dressed man emerged from a tree and struck 18 year old Anna Frank from behind as she walked home. She was knocked down and found unconscious with a handkerchief bound over her mouth. She recalls only being grabbed.
