Paris dispatch reports Labori's condition worsening rapidly on August 14. The Evening Bulletin notes general sentiment that Labori’s death would provoke widespread calls for Dreyfus' acquittal, and that the attack on the famed advocate is broadly deplored.
Maitre Labori, counsel for Dreyfus, was shot on the way to the Rennes court martial and is believed fatally injured. He miraculously walked to a doctor and office, saying the trial should continue. The court adjourned until Wednesday amid fear of a larger plot to attack Dreyfus and supporters.
Henry Jungbeahnel a laborer employed loading timber on the Osorne at Port Blakeley was crushed by a falling log and suffered internal injuries. He was brought to the city by steamer and taken to Providence hospital. the outcome is expected to be fatal.

Harry G. Griswold, 32, a life convict at Joliet, died of consumption. The case recalls the Great Railway Trench and the Chicago detective shooting during the Strike era. Griswold, from a Brooklyn family, joined F. Lake and Hight Grieweld in the Chicago race yard plot. Lake and Grieweld were arrested, tried at Waukegan, and received life terms.

Authorities suspect a drowning accident involving Alfred H well of 4997 Walton avenue West Philadelphia. Propriety Adams believes the man went bathing yesterday and was overcome by cramps or grew beyond his depth without a cry for help.
