A 12 year old, Law rence Blackshere, clad only in a union suit, ran through the street after being caught climbing over a transom into a room at the Olympic hotel near Western avenue and Virginia street. He and 13 year old George Meyer were chased for blocks and taken to police headquarters. They had rented a room after taking a row boat from Albers mill and began their “pirate” adventure.
