Chicago attorney Francis the special prosecutor for several millionaire contractors asked the state's attorney to investigate alleged conspiracies by some contractors and unions to ruin non union firms and workers. The inquiry follows the death of Michael Sweeney killed by a non unionist Weller. Francis claims the Sheet Metal Contractors association conspired with unions to force workers into the union.
Residents of Green Lake allege C. J. Reed lured young girls to his home and wrongfully enticed them. Reed was arrested this morning but no formal charge was filed yet as investigators proceed. The offense carries a potential long penitentiary term.
