Hydroelectric boom looms for western coal crisis

A National Electric Light association report drawn from Paso Robles details plans to harness 40,000,000 horsepower from Western waters across 11 states by 1929. It notes Washington, California, and Oregon collectively hold about half of U.S. water power potential, with Idaho and Montana adding more, and stresses the infrastructure and financing needed to develop miles of tunnels and piping.
