A small 12 ton schooner named 8 Peal sails from Seattle under W. C. Mo heading toward Unalaska. The vessel, loaded with supplies, plans to land on one of the nearby islands for an extended expedition.
English financier P. Morgan has gained control of major steamship lines linking the United States with Thaly Sicily Malta Egypt and the Black Sea. The purchase reportedly cost around pounds, with Morgan planning further acquisitions. Observers fear increased British shipping prices and market disruption as Morgan expands influence over transatlantic routes.

Three months after the Scandinavian bank failure in Whatcom, Frank Olson, cashier of the defunct bank, was arrested at a friend’s home in Seattle by Sheriff Cudihee and Deputy Sheriff Williams and jailed at Whatcom. Warrant swears out on deposits while bank insolvent with President St John Dix in London and J Stangroom held in Whatcom.

An explosion at the King County oil fields south of Park at 11:20 claims August 431, buried in the shaft. At 2:30 p.m. workers exhumed the body. he leaves a widow and four children in South Park. Engineer H Loomas suffered severe injuries. coroner Hoye arrived to hold an autopsy.

An Italian man identified as Givaro Ruttac cavalio and a 14 year old girl were committed to Westchester jail on charges they buried a live infant under three feet of earth at a ravine foot in Hastings on Hudson. Laborer Patrick McVoy saw them and followed as they fled, unearthing the infant wrapped in an old cape. the baby was nearly dead but revived at a nearby drugstore.

New York April 29. Prince Henri de Croy of Belgium reported losses of several courly jewelry pieces and four Ara shawls seized by customs inspectors at Hoboken after arriving by liner. He denies smuggling but goods remain held. The prince has proceeded to Washington.
Detective Lane questioned G. Castro at Providence hospital about a Saturday waterfront hold-up report. Castro denied being robbed, saying he fell on stairs at the Nome City forecastle, resulting in a head bruise. He claimed he left Nome City at about 7 PM Friday with 10 dollars or less on him and later had some money remaining.
Fatally Fresno April 20 district Grand Organizer D. H. Bandera of the San Francisco United Workmen was injured on a wrecked north bound train this morning.
Three girls Zole St John Emma Deal and Hessie Keene aged 11 10 and 13 from Seattle were arrested with a man named J B Sweeney in Tacoma as they tried to obtain a room in a cheap lodging house. They will be sent home this afternoon.
The Burke area school board will hold an executive session tonight in the office of Brother Coe. They will hear the teachers' committee report ahead of the June teacher election. Discussion may cover sending the teachers list to Bapt. Electric Cooper in Halt Lake City and allowing Mr Cooper, recently elected Beattie Schools superintendent, to select teachers for the coming term.
