In Trinidad Colorado 23 men are dead after a dust explosion in a Colorado Fuel and Iron mine. Four dozen workers were inside the mine when the blast occurred. Seventeen miners 9 700 feet from the entrance escaped through another opening.
Angie Turner and Gertrude Holt, both residents of local addresses, were struck by a car driven by B. Barnes while eight girls played near the curb. Turner lay unconscious over three hours. Thomas Gregson a fireman on the steamship Eureka was fatally stabbed by Robert H. Jones a water tender after a quarrel on board. Jones was arrested by Detective Phillips and patrolmen. Gregson died en route to Wayside hospital and Jones is held in the city jail. Gregson 31 son of attorney Thomas G. with offices in Mutual Life building.
