Newfoundland prospects for a start were unfavourable with moderate east wind.
In Copenhagen on April 19 United Press reports that communists defending Munich have gathered about 20 000 well armed troops.
The International Workers' Defense league begins mailing ballots to about 20 000 locals for a national strike referendum to seek a new trial for Tom Mooney. Voters may approve three five day strikes starting July 1 Labor Day and November with an indefinite strike if needed. Ballots return May 20 and will go to the Mooney federal Interven tion committee in Chicago for tallying.
Seattle officials plan a joint assault on interstate whisky bootlegging with J F Warren and U S Attorney C L Reames to coordinate rapid patrols launches and waterfront operations. Sheriff Stringer has requested a Monday meeting to outline the plan and increase seizures after four carloads arrived in 10 days with about 13000 quarts shipped and sold locally.
