Shipyard worker killed by U S soldier in city collision
Arthur Kt. Sandall 27 a shipyard worker of 1714 N. 30th was struck and killed at Third Ave and Seneca by an auto driven by Private C F Kerns United States soldier. Kerns said he did not see the fast approaching car and turned to avoid it. He was booked released and conferred with Deputy Prosecutor Patterson Monday. Sandall is survived by a wife and two young children.

Settlement Expected Tonight In Dock Workers Wage Talks
A new wage scale for dock truckers and warehousemen, who threatened a strike last week, is expected to be fixed Monday evening at a conference of union and Waterfront Employers association representatives. Edgar C. Snyder represents the national adjustment commission of the U S Shipping Board. The men planned to walk out Thursday but delayed the strike 10 days to allow government mediators a chance to secure a settlement.
