Seattle Council Approves Major City Infrastructure Funds

Seattle City Council authorized up to 1 500 000 for the West Spokane street bridge and 50 000 for extending city light service. They also voted 195 000 from the general fund to improve a city arterial highway, and transferred land in Jefferson Park to the park board for use as a playground. A board of appraisers was to be appointed to value Seattle and Rainier Valley Railway traction property. The council deferred daylight saving and jitney measures, postponing action while public input continues.
