The grand jury in New York indicted Max Blank and Isaac Harris owners of the Triangle Shortwaist company for first degree manslaughter after a fatal fire that killed 143 people. Mrs Henry and Kelley reportedly died by their own actions related to the Cane Dora incident.
The Missouri Supreme Court reversed a lower court ruling and ordered a new trial for Dr Hyde in the death of Col Thomas H Swope. The reversal cites errors in admitting testimony about others’ illnesses and injections that caused Swope’s death, raising questions of poison versus illness. Attorneys for the railways argued county overstepped raising the levy on N P property from 60690 to 106208 and on G N property from 21833.67 to 39390.59. Deputy Prosecutor Evans showed other property had risen 60 percent while the railroads rose only 30 percent.
Sam Loyd, millionaire inventor and puzzle expert famed for Parechesi and Pigs in Clover, died today at his Brooklyn home. The 70 year old man originated popular games and contributed to recreational puzzles enjoyed by thousands.
Seven year old Leland Pynch died last night at Municipal hospital after being struck by an automobile owned by Dr KE M Rininger and driven by Harry Johnson. Johnson was arrested and released on personal recognizance following an investigation. Johnson says the boy rode on grocery wagons and darted into the street while crossing between wagons.
