Pastor Rev James A Banter says the town’s loss is about 17 000 with 15 000 for the building and 2 000 for furniture. Firefighters saved a piano. two thousand dollars in other furniture burned. Incendiary theory favored by the pastor amid recent thefts. overheated stove possibility noted after choir practice the prior evening. Temporary worship arrangements are being sought.

Three Autos Seized Sought Booze Cache Washington
Deputies seized three autos and eight and a half sacks of liquor on the Tacoma highline road near Des Moines. Sheriff Matt Starwich led a large force scouring woods for 40 or more sacks believed hidden by booze runners. Ed Gunderson Mike and Castro Arvesson were arrested and jailed. An additional car was fired upon during the chase and bottles broken.

Spar Plant Burns Total Loss at Pacific Northwest Spar Co
A watchman woke to flames at 1 56 a m and observed the main building of the Pacific Northwest Spar Co at 6 Nickerson st in flames. The building and contents valued at 4500 were destroyed with partial insurance coverage. Fire Inspector R I Lang investigated the blaze. The cause remains unknown possibly a spark from a refuse burner.

Mother Seeks Pause as Baby Buried in Seattle
Mrs Gladys Primeau 21 left her infant locked indoors at 1919 Ninth Ave Seattle causing the child to poison. She was to be moved from Tacoma to the state penitentiary for burglary with a one to 15 year sentence. She begged a Tacoma judge for a reprieve to attend the funeral if granted. The death led to manslaughter charges in Seattle but the case was dismissed by the prosecutor and she remained under a suspended burglary sentence awaiting further action.
