Officials move to close two dance halls in Seattle’s Yesler district amid cries of temperance reform. Chief Sullivan orders raids, while Mayor promises action to purge lewd theaters and liquor saloons from the old Tenderloin.
The arbitration board to hear differences between Seattle Electric Co and the street car men union will sit Monday morning. Union reps Willan Hickman Moore chosen. company rep not yet announced. Rumors of a new strike fade as Western Central Labor Union notes the company is tiding fair. Non union hires have grown. many may be evaluated as the strike ends. Until the board rules, union funds from business leaders remain temporarily withheld.
Forrest alias Eugene SchHoucke alias B K Tennant arrested in Sacramento on an outstanding Seattle warrant accuse of entering the Green Lake residence of J and Brigh last December binding the family and stealing valuables. Police tie him to another burglary on Thirty second Avenue and note he left Seattle three weeks ago.
Acting on orders from Chief Sullivan, City Detectives Hubberd and Freeman raided saloons along First Avenue northward. Four women arrested and jailed, three found in the Blue Light saloon. Mamie Jensen, May Lyons, and Annie McDonald detained as vagrants or for investigation.
Tacoz Erickson, a well known cigar and fruit stand owner, died in a small rear room at 010 First Avenue South. He had suffered from consumption and heart disease. He was found ill last night and died shortly after lying on a couch. Deputy Coroner Wiltsie investigated. body taken to Honey-Watenn morgue.

The two victims, Clase and William Me, suffer severe wounds from a shooting.
