Survey Finds Nation Needs 15 Million New Cars
A national survey shows the American public needs or wants 15,000,000 new cars, and by end of 1945 only about 21,000,000 cars will be in safe usable condition after an average 56,000 miles and eight years. The surplus division offers vast automotive parts to extend life, while big makers eye rapid conventional production and a 1947 shift to lightweight lower priced designs.
