Brownie Troops from Surfside and Sunset Beach held a Mother's Tea at the home of Mrs. Paul Bradley in Sunset Beach on Thursday. Mrs. Hal Rowe and Mrs. Homer Roberts of Surfside attended with their daughters Tina and Renee.
Mrs Beatrice Settles hosted a luncheon at her home honoring Mrs Florence Hinds now of Manhattan Beach. Alma La Chambre and Mrs Joseph Kroll assisted with table arrangements and refreshments.
Gertrude Wright of B-34 recently returned from a trip to Michigan and Indiana. She owns a cottage on Lake Michigan and shared remarks about her travels.
Orange County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 3 00 p m on Wednesday November 23 1955 to consider an amendment to Ordinance 351 creating an oil field district in parts of Sections 13 and 18 T5S R12W and T5S R11W near Seal Beach California. Interested parties may inspect the amendment in Santa Ana and attend the session at the Sixth and Birch Streets location.
Mr. and Mrs. Hal Rowe with their children spent the weekend at Fern Valley in Idylwild. They savored the clear mountain air after overcast weather, sat by a roaring fire, played games, and the children enjoyed the change from the beach. The trip ended a weeklong vacation.
Joe and Hazel Bayer spent a pleasant weekend in Palm Springs. Both avid golfers with Hazel leading the Meadow Lark Women's Golf Club, they followed the Ryder Cup matches with keen interest.
A party at the Joseph Kroll home celebrated Ronnie and Steve Kroll turning six. Nine friends joined in games and a birthday cake with ice cream, while Mrs Kroll’s mother and sister from Los Angeles attended.
Mrs. Ralph Snavely and Mrs. Stewart Briggs co hosted a tea and shower for Barbara Marx Jackson at Mrs. Snavelys home. Fifteen Surfside friends attended with autumn fruit and floral decorations.
Don Draheim lives at B-94 and returns from vacation with a month of painting. He will use a paint brush ladder paint and elbow grease to give his house a fresh color and a bright shine. Neighbors will visit to admire his talents.
Mr and Mrs Joe Dye have been busy painting and remodeling the home they recently purchased at C 32. Neighbors praise their handiwork and encourage them to keep it up.
