The Senior Women's Club held an executive meeting at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon in the Civic Auditorium. Year books were discussed and referred to a committee. A Welfare Fund tea is planned for July. A tentative year program was outlined with four federation chairmen slated to join the program.
A Youth Caravan will visit Seal Beach next week, composed of three youths and an adult counselor. They will conduct meetings and workshops for ages 12 to 23 at the local Community church, spanning Sunday through Saturday with daily morning workshops, evening pot lucks, and programs for youth, parents, teachers, and others. The group travels without salary, volunteering their entire summer to visit churches.
Mrs. M. B. Martin, Odessa Texas piano teacher, visits her parents at 328 Tenth Street and her brother O L Birt and family in Seal Beach. She is pursuing postgraduate piano study at the University of Southern California with Adelaide Trowbridge Perry.
The Community Church announces a Vacation School beginning Monday July 17 and ending Friday July 28. Daily sessions run from 9 to 1130 a.m. Age groups to be included have not yet been determined.
Early this morning a new automobile owned by Phillip Norton local builder was nearly destroyed by a blaze that started around 1 30 a m Fire Chief Sperry Knighton saved adjoining property and helped prevent total loss Norton thanked Max Henkey owner of the home where Norton lives for having fire equipment on hand
