Reading Railroad Plan Foresees Reorganization Details

A New York correspondent reports that the Reading Railroad reorganization plan will be presented to receivers with no stock assessments. Bondholders may subscribe to 6 percent collateral trust bonds at a fair price, backed by 15 million in securities, and a 2 million plus note schedule will be solved. A voting trust may place representation on the board, and general mortgage coupons could be refunded for a period. Industrial updates include Newport coal sale, Lake Shore and Michigan Southern leadership changes, and various railroad financial trends.

Conversation themes fade in modern England and beyond

The piece laments the loss of old world conversation and manners in modern times with telegrams and slang replacing polite discourse.
