Poor Board Deliberations on Relief Petitions and Adoptions
A municipal poor board meeting discussed relief requests from several residents. John Lawbrosh sought guardianship for four children at the Home for the Friendlies, granted after a mother’s insanity and the applicant’s unfitness were noted. Mary Eynen’s relief was denied due to property ownership and employed daughters. Anna Thompson’s case was referred to the board’s attorney as jurisdiction appeared lacking.
