Manville breaker to restart after shaft and fan upgrade
The Manville breaker will reopen early this week after a major rework that added a new air shaft and a twenty foot diameter, eighty five rpm fan. The upgrade diverts water from the old shaft into the Clark vein and increases output to seven hundred tons per day with three hundred workers. The American Safety Lamp and Mine Supply Co on Capouré Avenue runs full time, expanding to a dozen more workers. Orders from several states and territories, including Klondike and Colorado, keep large operations active. A major washer at Vitteton, Wak, continues to supply nearby needs.
