Memorial Day Observed Across Cemeteries and Parades
Memorial day was observed with parades and church services across Denmore and Petersburg cemeteries. Col. Ezra Griffin Post 199 and Ladies Circle No 19 led ceremonies with schools, veterans groups, and a large crowd in attendance. The day included services at Forest Hill Dunmore Hyde Park and St Marys cemeteries, with addresses by Rev. J B Sweet and Rev P J McManus, plus floral tributes from the Woman's Relief Corps and Sons of Veterans. In Petersburg a multi-organization parade preceded ritual services and a Gettysburg address recital.
