The Curate of Poltons Courtship and its Reversals
A narrator recounts how curate Jack Ives pursues Miss Trix Queenborough amid rival Lord Newhaven at Poltons Park. After flirtations, a charity of sympathy, and a staged sermon, Ives wins Mrs Wentworth’s favor and gains Trix’s reluctant respect, ending with Ives proposing to Wentworth as Trix reevaluates her affections.
