Debt Free at Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Church
The Welsh Calvinistic Methodist Church on South Monin avenue celebrated clearing its debt. Rev. Hugh Davis led the service as mortgages were burned before a large crowd. Donations included $400 from friends and $3554 raised by members. The building, first opened in 1864, has a long history of reconstruction after mine disasters and legal disputes, with total expenditures of $27,750 all paid. The congregation, about two hundred strong, includes many longtime West Beranton families.

Fire at North Seventh Street home causes damage
A minor blaze last night at 9:20 in Mrs. Emma Wells home on North Seventh Street, in J. E. Hess propiedad, damaged a second floor bedroom and a clothes closet. Firefighters from box 14 at West Lackawanna Avenue and Seventh Street arrived quickly and contained the flames. Estimated damage about $100.

William Murray Dies After Long Illness At 72
William Murray 72 died Tuesday night at his home 922 North Filmore Avenue after a long illness. He is survived by three daughters Miss Margaret Murray Mrs Thomas Howells of Mt Dewey and Mrs William Burns of North Filmore Avenue. The funeral will be held at the house tomorrow at 7 PM and interment will follow in Cambria cemetery.
