The Delaware and Hudson round houses expanded from three quarters to full capacity as locomotives crowded the yard. Historic clashes with Ontario and Western over surface routes near John Street wire bridge led D and H to build obstruction switches and route traffic overhead. The yard now features a large new area where the old mill dam stored logs.
