A telegram reports the safe arrival at Tampa of Rev. A J Diaz the Baptist missionary formerly arrested and imprisoned by Spanish authorities in Havana. Washington reports Shah Nashraw-Din of Persia was shot near Tehran while entering a shrine. The assailant was arrested. preparations noted for protection of Christians and retaliation against the crime. The Shah’s death ends a long European travel record and signals potential succession disputes.
Bertha Mc Connell of Contaville shot her lover Harry Thompedon and attempted suicide. Unable to secure bail she was sent to a hospital for detention until health recovery. Thompson remains injured and is recovering.
Conl Preen Advanced reports that Reading Lehigh Valley and Lackawanna have raised anthracite prices by 25 cents per ton, effective immediately, as other coal companies follow.
Gershome Mott Williams of Detroit was consecrated on May 1 as Heat Saboe of Soyonnese of Marquette, an order in upper Michigan, at Grace Church Marguiette. The ceremony installed Williams as a D. D. with duties in the local diocese.
