Delaware Lackawanna and Western Adds New Shop Equipment
A new 20000 pound bulldozer for bending iron and steel into car shapes is installed at the Delaware Lackawanna and Western blacksmith shop and will be ready to operate tomorrow. A carving machine for ornamental passenger coach work, supplied by Newark, costs about two hundred dollars. A stationary engine arrives from Syracuse, now set for use in the Scranton machine shop, with most Syracuse work moved to Scranton, boosting local employment. The road fills an order for 100 high side gondolas with 66000 pound capacity and builds a sample 80000 pound box car, signaling a larger order if it meets requirements. One old dining car is remodeled to match new stock.

Lloyd may meet the grievance committee on the Trock matter tomorrow afternoon. C C Rose of the Delaware and Hudson coal department has posted notices demanding that employees pay debts to remain employed, a move echoed by the Lackawanna line. Canfield just returned from a Morris and Kusex division inspection and reports shipshape conditions. He plans a brief vacation soon after returning to the city.
