West Side board backs belt line traction route proposal

A proposed belt line route endorsed by the West Side board of trade is to be reviewed by the street railways committee. The plan calls for a double track from Franklin along Lackawanna avenues to Ninth street then north to Swetland street and Main avenue to connect with the existing line. The company also seeks a double track on Main avenue, arguing the longer running time would be offset by fewer switch delays. A favorable report is expected for tomorrow night’s common council session.
