A Distinguished Lodger Claims to Be Acquaintance of Great Men
John H. Fox of Wilmington Doel was a charity lodger at the central police station last night. He claimed to be a law student in the office of the late Lewis C. Cassidy of Philadelphia and said he knew W. F. Harrity and ex Governor Pattison. His polished talk and exact details impressed, but worn clothes and signs of drinking cast doubt on his tale. He recalled dining with Pattison and Harrity at the World's Fair and spoke of the Salisburys and Bayards among Delaware families.
