Griffiths and Holgate Lead Delegates at Acclaimed Convention

Mr. Griffiths was nominated by Mr. Holgate with J. B. Watkins as seconder and elected by acclamation. Holgate secured the alternate seat in acclamation after Watkins nominated him and Mr. Aker issued the motion. Both Griffiths and Holgate gave brief thanks. Molmate was praised by Watkins as a rugged war horse but rejected the label. The convention derailed talk on the primary files, with a special committee chaired by Holgate voting to adopt new rules that limit the chairman’s vacancy-filling power and exclude a blanket purge for five irregular votes. Vigilance and standing committees are set as three vigilantes and one standing member per district, other vacancies deemed unimportant.
