Keller Maps Broad Offer Over Gas Franchise Vote

The city approved a Consumers' Gas franchise on third reading after Keller threatened to expose alleged funding and donors behind the previous ordinance. He claimed to name the money trail and the bank where funds were stored, prompting debate on transparency and the need for better gross receipts disclosure to tax the company. The council ultimately passed the measure amid warnings of a potential blackmail scheme and ongoing investigations into the gas matter.
