Clark proposes tax to force Traction abolish double fare
At a Sixth ward meeting M E Clark will introduce an ordinance taxing $100 yearly per car on Traction lines through Bellevue to end the double fare within the city. The Bellevue right of way predated the Sixth ward boundary and the company claims extra fare for riders outside the old Fifteenth ward. Clarke argues the franchise limits extra city charges and will push measures to compel concessions, citing moral grounds and petitions already denied.
